Following the Developers getting rugged by a hacker who exploited an airdrop link on the old website, which is now defunct, the project was fully handed over to the community. The Launch
On May 20th, 2025 $genius was launched on pump.fun.
The plan to go up, developed by the Devs with help of AI was simple:
$genius supply is capped
Tokens would be burned at regular intervals
Devs burned all of their original supply
All holders would receive airdrops on a schedule
Airdropped coins would not be able to be sold until a certain marketcap
capped and diminishing supply = price goes up

The Hack
At midnight on June 26th, 2025, the $genius community was rocked. Within seconds, the coin's value has inexplicitly plummeted over 98%.

The only information that the community had, was a post on X from the Devs telling everyone to not click any links on the website.

It was soon revealed that a hacker had exploited an insecurity on the page where people submitted their information for an airdrop and gained access to the Dev airdrop wallet.

The developer wallets had been drained, and in one sell order, this hacker turned millions of dollars worth of $genius into ~$100k.
The Community Takeover
Completely drained, the original development team expressed that they no longer had the means or will to fund the project.
